What is the difference between portable power station and generator?

A portable power station and a generator both provide power, but they operate in different ways and have different features. A portable power station is essentially a big rechargeable battery that you carry around. Deplete it and it's useless until you can recharge.

A generator is a machine that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy. It usually runs on fuel, such as gasoline, propane, or diesel. Generators are typically larger and heavier than portable power stations and can produce more power.

On the other hand, a portable power station is a compact device that stores electrical energy in a battery and converts it to AC power using an inverter. They are generally more lightweight and easier to move around than generators, and they don't emit harmful fumes or require any fuel to operate.

Portable power stations can be recharged using solar panels, AC power outlets, or DC power sources such as car batteries, making them ideal for camping, outdoor activities, or emergency backup power. However, they typically have lower power output and shorter runtimes compared to generators, and may not be suitable for powering large appliances or heavy-duty equipment.
